Safety Shield Coating
Staticide®ESD Safety Shield, a durable water-based acrylic coating, bonds to plastics
such as tubing, clamshell protective packaging, carrying trays,
and lids. It dries clear and leaves a dissipative coating that
will not wash off or biodegrade. The coating can be brushed on,
dipped, or sprayed. Surface resistivity is 105 to 107
Ω and available in customized
formulations for lower resistance and complex plastics. Blended
from polymer materials, it does not contain silicone or chloride
contaminants. A gallon covers 1,500 ft2 when applied
with a foam brush and 600 ft2 using a flow coat.

Interlocking Floor Tiles
ESD-safe interlocking floor tiles come in coin-top and smooth-top styles. No glue or copper strips are needed to install tiles over pre-existing floor coverings or concrete. They measure 23.75" x 23.75". The electrical resistance is 1 x 106 to 1 x 109 Ω with a static decay rate of <0.2 s or 2.5 x 104 to 1 x 106 Ω with decay of <0.01 s. Tiles can be disassembled and moved. The recycled plastic content is 5% or 10% minimum for LEED points.

Impedance Amplifier
The A3 Family of RF amplifiers covers the 10-kHz to 3-MHz frequency range with three models: the 800-W 800A3, 1,500-W 1500A3, and the 5,000-W 5000A3. Each amplifier has selectable output impedance from 12.5 Ω to 400 Ω. In addition, an external impedance matching transformer is available for applications requiring from 8 Ω to 2,000 Ω. Together with selectable output impedance, a large tolerance to mismatch accommodates applications including fluorescent lighting, ultrasound, plasma generation and testing, and piezoelectric crystal excitation.

Moldable Plastic Shielding
PREMIER™ PEI-140, a lightweight, polyetherimide-based, electrically conductive plastic with up to 85-dB shielding effectiveness and UL 94V-0 flammability rating, is suited to high-temperature aerospace, defense, and transportation applications. PEI-140 complies with RoHS, WEEE, EPA, EU, and TCO specifications for ecological compatibility, contains no halogenated compounds, and generates very little smoke in the event of a fire. The amorphous, high-strength, chemical-resistant plastic is reinforced with a homogenous dispersion of proprietary conductive fibers throughout the molded part, regardless of geometry.

Filter Arrays
The CM1692 EMI Filter Arrays family is based on the company’s Praetorian II architecture targeted for EMI filtering applications in wireless handsets. They offer filter performance advantages for high-bandwidth applications including high cutoff frequency, fast rolloff, and minimal insertion loss. Features include four, six, and eight channels of EMI filtering with integrated ±15-kV ESD protection on each channel per IEC 61000-4-2 specification and ±30-kV HBM protection.

Wrist Straps
The Jewel® MagSnap Wrist Straps, available in both elastic and metal versions, create a magnetic connection between the wristband and the coil cord. The ground cord rotates on a machined pivot for flexibility and has a no-collapse banana plug. They offer 1 million-plus coil cord flex cycles and meet ESD S1.1 specifications including a disengagement force test of 1 to 5 lb. The RoHS-compliant and UL-listed straps feature a patent-pending adjustment design to eliminate exposing the conductive tail of the band.

Omnidirectional Antenna
The Omnifield Antenna Model OFA-S comprises three orthogonal miniature antennas in a 2.75" dia housing. Signals from all three antennas are combined and amplified to generate an output signal proportional to the absolute value of the E-field regardless of its orientation. Covering a frequency range from 30 MHz to 3 GHz and with a dynamic range from 3 mV/m to 300 V/m, the complete antenna measures 9" long including its handle. A separate rechargeable power unit attaches to the handle. A NIST/NPL-traceable calibration certificate is supplied with each unit.

The EMI Analyst™ Software application now calculates magnetic-field radiated emissions as well as electric-field radiated emissions. The addition of magnetic field calculations supports requirements such as those of MIL-STD-461RE101. A method-of-moments algorithm computes magnetic fields associated with dozens of design parameters, including nonideal circuit components, cabling construction, wire routing, twisting, shield construction and termination, grounding, circuit impedance and balance, filtering, and field distributions and propagation.

The Model 5200 Series of Benchtop RF Test Boxes provides RF isolation from 80 dB to 120 dB. Features include rugged construction, secure latching handles, and premium anechoic absorber lining. Options such as connector panels, connectors and feedthroughs, filters and air vents, antenna couplers, and cameras are available. Further customization can provide automatic opening and loading mechanisms to save test time. The small chambers are suitable for testing wireless devices and laptop computers.

Harmonics/Flicker Tester
The HAR1000-1P is a single-phase low-frequency measuring system used for determining harmonic and flicker emissions generated by a EUT connected to 230 V/50 Hz and 115 V/60 Hz AC power. The HAR1000-1P comprises a power amplifier, a line impedance network, and harmonics and flicker measurement circuitry. The hardware is controlled by the HARCS software package, which assists in test setup, records up to eight different parameters, verifies harmonics and flicker, displays results, and simulates circuit behavior. The HAR-EXT1000 unit adds the capability to measure two more phases to the HAR1000-1P.

Random EFT Burst Generator
The new PEFT 8010 Electrical Fast Transient Simulator produces impulses singly and in bursts up to 7.3 kV in accordance with IEC/EN 61000-4-4. Each impulse has a 5-ns 10% to 90% rise time and a 50-ns duration measured between 50% points. Bursts of up to 75 impulses are possible at an impulse frequency as high as 100 kHz. Alternatively, impulses can be produced continuously at up to 225 impulses/s or with random positioning within a burst. A wide range of accessories and options is available.

The 500-W SMX500 increases the maximum output power of the SMX Solid State Power Amplifier range to at least 57 dBm at frequencies from 10 kHz to 1,000 MHz. The amplifier shares features common to the series such as digital display monitors for power supply current and voltage, forward and reverse RF power, total hours of use, and hours operated. Fault monitoring includes VSWR overload, thermal overloads, and the airflow power supply. Remote operation is controlled via built-in GPIB or RS-232 with optional RS-422, RS-4785, or TTL interfaces.

The portable Model 900 ESD Event Detector operates five to seven hours on batteries or with a power cube for continuous AC line operation. When an ESD event is detected, an audible buzzer sounds and visual color-coded lights show intensity. A front-panel selector switch can be used to automatically or manually reset control. It is CE compliant. An external monitor connection accommodates remote monitoring.

A full range of RoHS-compliant and UL-, cUL-, and VDE-approved double-stage EMI filters is available for general-purpose as well as low-leakage medical versions (M) categorized as 092 and 092M series. There are three full-size pockets, two with 4-mm grounding snaps. The 2" front facing conceals five conductive 4-mm snaps. The static decay time from 1,000 V to 50 V is <0.2 s. Round Flexible Shields
A range of 22 electrically conductive beryllium-copper contact rings is offered for EMI shielding applications. The rings are manufactured using standard fingerstock gasket styles. Once installed in round-shaped plug openings, the gaskets attenuate unwanted microwave and RF interference. Custom sizes are available, and the rings can be made with curved contacts on either the inside or outside to ease installation. A bright finish is standard, but 10 plating options are available.

Shielded USB Connectors
A series of connectors incorporates EMI or ESD filters in an industry-standard USB package. The filtered connectors have a working voltage of 5 VDC with a 1-A current rating and are a drop-in replacement for unfiltered connectors. The maximum contact resistance is 30 mΩ. A capacitive filter is used for USB 1.1 and an inductive filter for USB 2.0. Various models meet the requirements of USB 2.0 and USB On-The-Go specifications, and all are RoHS compliant.

The ISN T8 CISPR-22-based impedance stabilization network (ISN) establishes the common-mode termination impedance when performing EMI measurements on a EUT. The ISN T8 is positioned between the EUT and auxiliary equipment or the EUT load and can handle up to four unshielded balanced pairs of cables as used with 1000Base-T operation and Power over Ethernet. It features a 150-kHz to 30-MHz frequency range, 63-VAC or 100 VDC maximum line-to-ground voltage, and a 400-mA maximum per-line current rating.
