AC Sources Can Simulate Power Line Disturbances

Two 18-kW models and an 18-kW power stage have been added to the 61500 and 61600 Series of programmable AC power sources. The 1- and 3-phase sources are equipped with power-line disturbance simulation, programmable output impedance, comprehensive measurement function, and wave-shape synthesis.

Also available is the company’s regulation test software covering several applications. Leveraging the output impedance and test software, the 61500 performs precompliance and compliance test against IEC 61000-4-11/-4-1 3/-4-14/-4-28 immunity test regulations and IEC 61000-3-2/-3-3 emission test regulations.

All models generate a sine waveform output with typical distortion of <0.5% @ 50/60 Hz. They operate through the front panel and keypad or remotely via GPIB, RS-232, USB, or Ethernet, and LabVIEW drivers are available to integrate them into automated test systems.
