Tektronix Toolset Addresses All DDR Speeds

The 1,600-MTransfers/s data rate possible in DDR3 technology severely challenges existing test solutions. Combining several existing and new products has created a comprehensive test toolset for DDR2 and DDR3 development.

Physical link analysis features the DSA8200 Sampling Oscilloscope that provides TDR-based signal path characterization and circuit-board transmission-line performance verification. The P7500 Tri-Mode™ Active Differential Probes and DPOJET Measurement Software used with the DSA70000 Digital Serial Analyzers and the new DDR analysis option aid analog debugging.

For digital validation and debug, the TLA7000 Logic Analyzer and the TLA7BB4 acquisition module address DDR speeds to the full rate DDR3-1600. Nexus Technology Protocol Violation Software automates analysis of data. Probing solutions include solder-down versions of the TriMode probe and interposers, direct probing, and an instrumented dual-rank DIMM that makes all DDR3 differential signals available.
