Agilent Technologies Acquires Assets of Escort Instruments for Low-Cost Test and Measurement Market


SANTA CLARA, CA, June 10, 2008

Agilent Technologies (NYSE: A) has acquired substantially all of the assets of Taiwan-based Escort Instruments, an established supplier of low-cost test and measurement instruments and a subsidiary of Unitech Printed Circuit Board. Financial details were not disclosed.

The acquisition includes Escort Instruments' R&D, marketing, intellectual property, and the majority of the subsidiary's low-cost instrument product portfolio.

The acquisition supports Agilent's growth strategy in the low-cost instrument market and adds R&D expertise and products to enhance the company's existing low-cost instrument portfolio. The Escort Instruments assets are being integrated into the Basic Instruments Division of Agilent's Electronic Measurements business. Twenty Escort Instruments' employees have joined Agilent in Taipei.
