Credence Achieves Milestone 3,000th ASL Test System Shipment

MILPITAS, CA, October 15,

Credence Systems (NASDAQ: CMOS) has shipped its 3,000th ASL Test System. In addition to production-proven accuracy and repeatability, the flexible and high-throughput testing capabilities of the ASL family have made it a most cost-effective and widely accepted test system. The ASL is the system of record for analog, discrete, and linear integrated device manufacturers (IDMs) and outsourced assembly and test providers (OSATs), with more than 100 systems installed in the past year at leading OSATs in Asia. Several thousand applications, ranging from discrete and power management to analog/mixed-signal and RF integrated circuit devices, have been successfully tested on the ASL systems.

"We thank our customers for working with us over the years in our drive to deliver best-in-class test performance and value for the ASL systems," said Amir Aghdaei, senior vice president and general manager of field operations and marketing at Credence. "As our customers in the analog market scale their requirements with advances in technology, Credence is committed to providing solutions that help solve their most demanding test challenges."

The ASL family comprises the ASL 1000, ASL 3000, and ASL 3000RF. A broad range of optional instruments allows customers to customize and configure each system for the specific devices they wish to test, extracting the highest value for their investment. In addition, Credence is continuing to invest in the ASL platform to provide significant enhancements in the system hardware and software architecture for emerging customer requirements.

The widely adopted ASL 1000 is a linear test platform that supports up to 21 instruments in a fully configured system. With the smallest footprint in its class, the ASL 1000 is extremely adaptable and easily shared between engineering labs and full production test environments.

The ASL 3000 is a high-throughput, mixed-signal IC test system that delivers the parallel measurement capabilities needed for production testing of the lower pin-count graphics ICs used in today's consumer devices. The ASL 3000RF test system addresses the challenging economics of today's advanced mobile phone and mobile computing device technologies. It is the first wireless IC tester configured with four independent RF receivers, with on-board DSP for truly parallel RF measurement acquisition and positioning.
